Being a mompreneur is hard work. It takes a lot to balance your family, the house, a business and possibly even an outside job as well. I understand the struggle and have decided to do this Mompreneur Spotlight at least once a month to showcase mompreneurs who are rocking it. For this first spotlight I have chose my good friend Stephanie Faught. She and I worked together with Beachbody Coaching and became friends fast. When I chose to end my coaching time we still kept in touch and she became a part of Younique. I have watched her work her tail off to achieve amazing things thus far and I know she is destined to make it all the way to the top. Her work ethic, spunkiness and genuineness is something that you don’t find often but it comes 100% naturally for her. So let’s get on with her spotlight!
Younique Presenter Stephanie Faught
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Stephanie. I am 26 years old. I’m an aircraft maintainer in the US Air Force and a Younique Presenter. I’ve got two boys. One is 4 and the other is almost 2. They’re my whole World!! I compete in NPC Bikini Division fitness competitions. I love fitness… but I also love pizza. The struggle is always real. Lol! I am engaged to marry the man of my dreams in October! I’m not the greatest with makeup but this business has taught me a lot and given me so much confidence in myself it’s unreal.
What inspired you to become a mompreneur?
My kids honestly. I deployed before my oldest was 9 months old and I missed his first birthday. I don’t want to miss anymore birthdays or holidays. I want to be present all the time. I want to be the crazy mom in the stands at every single sporting event. I need to be there for them more than I am. I love the military and I love our country, but I just want to be home.
How long have you been pursuing this dream?
Since March. Ha! I’m still new to this but I’ve managed to replace half of my military income already so I’m well on my way.
If your company has a ranking system, what level are you currently at?
I am currently Blue Status but I’m working hard to get to Elite Green Status. I am about half way up the ranks.
What has been your biggest struggle being a mompreneur?
My biggest struggle is balancing my full-time job, kiddos, fiancé, training for competitions, school, and Younique. It’s overwhelming at times but I know it will all pay off soon.
What has been your biggest achievement so far?
My biggest achievement is just feeling confident again. After I had my youngest son I had post-partum hair loss pretty bad so I chopped my hair off. The cut was awful and I felt terrible about myself for a long time. I now have confidence and am so excited to share it with others.
How do you balance being a mom and being a mompreneur?
I just know when to prioritize. It’s tough at times, but it’s doable. I hate hearing the excuse that people don’t have time because if your reason for doing something is strong enough, you’ll make time. I make time because I want to stay home with my kids. Whether it’s waking up early or going to be late, it all gets done. It’s worth it to me.
You work a full-time job as well. How does that interfere with your business?
The main hindrance is just that I can’t devote as much time to it during the day as I can at night. I know it make me more relatable to the working mom, but it stinks sometime being absent to my client during the day time some days. I always like to respond to messages immediately and sometimes it hinders that.
Do you feel that the hard work it takes to be a mompreneur is worth it?
Absolutely. Whether you’re in it for the extra diaper money or to have cash to spoil yourself and do something for YOU finally… it’s well worth it. The amount of love and support that our team shows is mind boggling. It’s worth it. I promise.
What advice do you have for new mompreneurs?
JUST KEEP GOING! Stay consistent because in a year, you won’t regret it. It takes time to build a network and to earn the trust of people, but it’s worth it to stick it out.
“Never give up on a dream because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”- Earl Nightingale
If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before you started this journey, what would that be?
Start SOONER!! =D lol
