I’ve been a little absent lately. I’m sorry for that but it came down to taking care of myself and my family first. I was having really hard days filled with anxiety and a touch of depression. I even discussed medication with my therapist because I was feeling so down. It was something that I never wanted to get to but I felt like I was getting there. Instead of writing the script though, my therapist and I decided to just keep an eye on it and instead try to focus more on things that make me happy.
I had recently tried out yoga for the first time and I fell in love. It has such an amazing way of calming me and helping me stop my mind from running a million miles a minute. I never wanted to go into a yoga studio and try it for the first time because I knew I would probably look ridiculous and well that doesn’t help my anxiety at all. Plus, being around a bunch of people is another trigger for my anxiety. Luckily, Beachbody released the program 3 Week Yoga Retreat onto their Beachbody on Demand…I’m a club member (also a coach but you just need to be a club member for BOD) so I got to try it out. Like I said, I fell in love with it. Now, any time that I feel a little too anxious or in a bad mood, I head up to my office and put a yoga workout on to bring me back to center.
I also started running my fitness accountability and support groups (I call them challenge groups) again. It gives me the ability to focus on others. To help others reach their goals all the while providing support and motivation for myself and for them. It’s all online based so even on the days where I’m anxious and can’t/don’t go out in public, I can still help others. It really has a way of bringing light to my life. I always want to do good, be a good Christian and helping others is a huge part of that but when you can be crippled by anxiety it can be hard to do. These groups have not only been essential to helping me lose weight but it’s been a catalyst for some amazing friendships. I have become CLOSE friends with people who started out as challengers in my group. The fact that I get to help others has been good for my soul too.
Being a Beachbody Coach isn’t about a job for me. It’s not about the money. It’s about helping others and helping myself. If I was not a coach, then I probably would not have ever tried yoga. If it was not a coach, then I wouldn’t have some of the most amazing women in my life as not only friends but also mentors. If I wasn’t a coach, then I wouldn’t have the joy of seeing so many ladies make emotional, health and body transformations.
This last month, between the yoga, therapy and challenge group, I have really experienced a difference in my depression and anxiety. I feel passionate about things again and am excited to work on my groups and this blog.
Since I have experienced such amazing benefits, I want to extend an invite to all of you. I am going to be running another online challenge group starting October 3rd through October 30th and I would love for you to join us. I have worked hard on this group and I promise it’s going to be a lot of fun and honestly isn’t even a huge focus on the fitness part. While the nutrition and fitness is a part of it, this month is all about building a community of support, love and laughter. It’s about finding our best selves together. Building a fit mind, body and soul.
If you are interested, then you can comment below or email me. My email for the group is listed on the picture above.
