I’m not claiming to know anything about Korean Beef since I have never had the authentic stuff but I can say that my husband absolutely loves when I make this. I actually went a year without making this for some reason. I guess it just slipped off my radar of foods to make. So when I made it a week or so ago, my husband was so happy! You will be happy because it’s definitely a go to meal for weekdays since it’s super quick and easy, quick and cheap to make. You can make it spicy or dull it down a little depending on how much red pepper flakes you put in to it. Definitely give it a try and let me know what you think.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes, or more to taste
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions:
In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes and ginger. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks; drain excess fat. Stir in soy sauce mixture until well combined, allowing to simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes. Serve immediately with rice.
