I am deeply saddened and extremely angry about what is happening in the United States since November 8th. For the first time in my life, I am glad to not be in the USA. I spent 8 years defending the rights of the American people. I spent 15 months away from my family and friends to ensure September 11th did not happen again. They are sacrifices that I was more than happy to make because I truly believe in the freedoms that we have. However, I do believe that our freedoms should be respected. The way that you all are acting is worse than my children and they are 3 and 4 years old. Thank goodness they don’t have to see it!
Please explain to me how you have the freedom to riot? You don’t! You have the freedom of speech, you have the freedom of PEACEFUL protest and you absolutely DO NOT have the freedom to damage or destroy another person’s property during your “protest”. Do you realize the entire world is watching your reactions?! Do you realize that when I turn on my Belgian, England and Russian news channels that they are reporting your CHILDISH behavior? That’s exactly what it is it’s childish. When did we become a nation that is full of hatred? That’s exactly what you are exhibiting, hatred! You are protesting President-elect Trump because he is full of hate and is such a horrible human being in your opinion yet you are any better by destroying property, blocking roadways which emergency personnel are trying to use and people trying to get to work are using, and overall spewing horrific words which are full of hate. How are you any better?
By all means, go out and hold some signs and express your freedom of speech but its time you realize there is a fine line between what you say/do and what you are “protesting” against. I get that you are scared of the future. I don’t think there is any person who isn’t. Even those who voted for Donald Trump are scared. Every person that has run for President of the United States has lied. Every one promises things that they never actually do. The thing is, all the stuff you are afraid of happening is already happening. I saw this copy and paste post on Facebook that I want to share:
“I keep seeing people post on how they are terrified, or scared? Well, what are you scared of exactly? War? Because that’s happening. School shootings? Because that’s happening. Pipeline? That’s been happening. Terrorism? Definitely alive and well. Going broke due to health insurance? Mm yes. Corruption throughout the system? Already there. Police officers being murdered? Yep, that’s happening. Bullying? Check. Loss of jobs? We’ve got that on lock. A tanking economy. Yep. Being discriminated against for your religion, political views, sexual orientation, race? That’s been going on. Rape, murder, violence, riots? All going on and has been.
So tell me, what are you scared of that is not already happening basically everywhere?
THIS ISN’T A TRUMP PROBLEM, this is a PEOPLE problem. Y’all need to reevaluate your own selves.
Maybe America is a little too scared and a little too easily offended.
Quit being scared, crying around, offended by everything. Step up and do your part as an American- no, as a damn human being. Treat others with respect, help and encourage one another, raise your kids right, be a contributing member of society. Make sure your hands are clean, that’s your job. Burning the American flag? Get out of here with that crap, how about you do your job to make it a better place.
But right now, all I see is hate. It’s disturbing, and the ones with the most hate are BEING exactly what they claim to be against!!!!”
That is exactly my point! Nothing is going on in the US that hasn’t already been going on. President-elect Trump can’t and won’t make it worse or create it because it’s been this way for many years. The only way it’s going to change is if we as Americans CHOOSE to change it! Now is the time to step up as person and show respect for each other! Respect the fact that you can’t block the roads…ambulances use that to get the sick to the hospital. How would you like it if that was your family member in the ambulance and it couldn’t get your loved one to the hospital on time because protesters are blocking the road? Quit burning and/or walking on the American Flag. That flag is draped across caskets of fallen military members who gave their life protecting you as an American. Show some damn respect for those people and treat the flag with respect! Quit acting like children and quit involving your children in your temper tantrums because I tell you what, if my children EVER walked out of class “protesting” anything I would loose my mind. Hurting your education does nothing but hinder you and your future! Start taking responsibility for your own actions. Start setting GOOD examples for your children! You don’t have to agree with who our new President will be; by all means you have the right to be upset about it even. However, if your child acted the way you are, would you be okay with that? If so then I am extremely scared for my children’s future. Show your children and the future generation that it’s okay to have differing opinions and to even be scared about the future because in all honesty, there is no way to know what the future holds. It’s not okay to become hateful though. It’s not okay to throw temper tantrums. I put my kids in time out for those and I think that is exactly what you all need! So go sit in time out, get yourself together and calm the heck down. Be the change you wish to see!
I’ll leave you with this:
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” – Colossians 3:12 (NIV)
